After a request during the public comment session on Wednesday, board members of the Clearfield County Recreation and Tourism Authority clarified the action taken on a "recommendation" at February's meeting.
Aaron Evans, editor of GantDaily.com, approached the board about its motion to carry out "the recommendation as set forth" by the human resources committee.
He indicated that they didn't make a "proper motion."

Aaron Evans and Neal Hudson of PUC's men's basketball team received postseason honors from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
"I think the recognition they both received at the conference level is great," said men's head coach Dan Voudrie, "It's a good reward for the hard work they've put in not only this year but throughout their whole careers."

The RedHawks trailed by five at the half before rallying behind Bishop Noll grad Nina Wills (20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals) and Merrillville grad Sharon Houston (14 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks).

Bermuda's overseas athletes are making the most of the indoor track and field season to qualify for major upcoming international events, writes Stephen Wright.
A number of the Island's most promising athletes delivered impressive performances for their respective universities at the weekend.
Ashley Berry booked her ticket to the CAC Junior Championships, finishing second in the 3,000 metres at the USATF Northeast Youth Indoor Track Meet at the New York Armory with a time of 10 minutes 41.8 seconds.

The Peregrines fell short of a win against Calumet St. Joseph, 85-64, in the opening round of the CCAC Tournament.
PUC pulled off a four point victory over CCSJ just three days earlier, but Tuesday's loss wrapped up their season leaving the Peregrines 8-19 overall.
"You knew it was going to be a tough uphill chore after a victory over them here on Saturday. They had a lot they wanted to prove," Head Coach Dan Voudrie said.

In their first conference road win of the season, the Peregrines shot 48.5 percent from the field compared to 39.7 percent by the Crimson Wave.
Aaron Evans scored the opening basket of the game, but would only have five points in the first half.
The two teams were active in the first half which saw seven lead changes.
Junior forward Neil Hudson's shot left PUC trailing by only one at halftime, 34-33.

The Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University brought experience and a physical presence to the court last Wednesday to defeat the younger Peregrines team in their last home game, 80-68.
CSU won the tip-off and drove down the court to take the early lead, which they held for the duration of the game.
When PUC got a chance at offense, the Wolves played as a pack, often harassing the ball-handler with double-coverage at the top of the key.

Chayce Smith was in fine form at the CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Hampton, Virginia, earning MVP honours for his college, St. Augustine.
Smith won the 800 metres in a time of one minute, 57 second 10, while running 4.29.63 to take line honours in the mile.
He won the MVP honours for the men's running events.
