Woodside quarterback Aaron Evans scored on 23-yard touchdown run with 4:36 left in the game to help the Wolverines beat Bayside 22-19 in the Eastern Region Division 6 playoff game at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex on Friday.
Woodside plays the winner of the Oscar Smith-Grassfield game next week to see who advances to the state tournament.

Woodside hosted its first ever playoff football game last week when the Wolverines crushed Maury 56-15.
Wolverines coach Danny Dodson was thrilled with the school's first postseason victory this decade but didn't get too excited.
"We want to do a little more than just make the playoffs," Dodson said.

The Goose Creek United U12 Spirit clinched a second-place finish in its league standings with a 6-1 win over the James Island Black Sunday.
The Spirit finished the fall season with a 7-2 mark.

Bermuda's elite athletes will be looking to take their show on the road as the Bermuda Track and Field Association (BTFA) attempt to get them training and racing in the European circuit.
Athletes such as Aaron Evans, Tre Houston, Tyrone Smith, Aranxta King, Shianne Smith and Jeneko Place will be looked at when the opportunity arises for Bermuda athletes to test their skills abroad.

The Goose Creek United Soccer Club Under-10 Force kicked off their fall season with a 5-1 victory over the JIYSC Red early Saturday morning.
The GCU Force got off to a fast start when Jack Bellimam provided an assist to Dustin Lash for the first goal of the match in the third minute.
Gavin Campbell added a goal in the ninth minute, giving the Force a 2-0 advantage.

Aaron Evan Smith, 28, of 30th Street, was arrested and charged with obstructing justice, inducing perjury and using a gun in a felony when he allegedly threatened to kill another man if he testified against him in court, according to a search warrant filed in Newport News Circuit Court, said police spokesman Harold Eley.
